Helping People Grow

I am a licensed professional counselor  with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Science degree from Purdue University in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. When I graduated with an HR degree, I really enjoyed working in Human Resources. I implemented and improved Pay-for-Skills and Skill Recognition programs. Working with all employees, I identified and implemented training programs to provide advancement opportunities and a flexible workforce. I also recruited at all levels of the organization and developed interview questions to assess candidates competencies and fit within the our organizational structure.

As my career advanced and the economy worsened, I found every year I was laying people off. After several years of this, I went back to school to obtain my counseling degree. My goal is to use my human resources knowledge to help you navigate the employment process and my counseling skills to help you identify what is important to you and steps to take to eliminate barriers to your success.

As a Career Counselor, I worked at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. Currently I am a part-time Lecturer at Eastern Michigan University where I help college students learn more about themselves and navigate the employment process.
